JEFF ZENISEK

YEARS COACHING   33 Years
YEARS AS A HORNET   3 Years
COACHING POSITION   Head Coach, QBs, Offensive Coordinator
BACKGROUND/BIO

Before becoming the head coach at White River, my previous football team had the opportunity to scrimmage White River High School throughout the summer. I was impressed by the work ethic, the drive and the competitiveness that these student athletes possessed. Once I saw that the football coaching position was open I knew that this would be a good fit. After joining the Hornet family in June of 2016, it felt like I was finally home again. The parent support, the community support for the White River School District, the support from the Booster Club, the Administration support, the work ethic and commitment from the student athletes and the work ethic from the coaching staff has made this experience exceptional.

I am a husband and father at home to a football family. My wife Robin, puts a sign up every year: “I interrupt this marriage for football season”. I couldn’t do what I do or have the success that I have had without all the support from her, my son Hunter and daughter Jordan. Coaching and teaching have always been passion in the Zenisek household. My wife is an elementary teacher in the Sumner school district and has taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade.  Hunter is currently a student at Bonney Lake High School and plays soccer. My daughter Jordan is a recent graduate of Washington State University “GO COUGS”.

I grew up in Pinedale, Wyoming and go back every year to visit my dad and brothers. I love fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, and the outdoors. Every fall my son and I go over to Moses Lake and do some bird hunting and in the summer my family and I try to go up to Alaska for fishing. I try and beat him at Xbox Modern Warfare, but don’t stand a chance.

FAVORITE FOOTBALL MEMORY

I look back at my coaching tenure and see some great memories. I am proud to have been a part of all the student athlete’s memories as well. I went back to Orcas Island (which was my first head coaching job) this past May. It was for a former player’s memorial. It was a sad day but was also amazing to see all the support from the 1986 football team, the basketball team, the community, the teachers, etc., etc. The stories were bountiful and the smiles and laughter made me realize this is why I do this. I look at all the mascots that I have been as a player and coach and each one there are great memories. I have been a: Poison Spider, Wrangler, Saint, Knight, Wildcat, Cougar, Viking, Panther, Mountaineer, Islander, Beaver, Raider and now a Hornet. It’s all about FAMILY and always will be!!!!!!
